5. Embedding Charts and Dashboards using iFrame

In this guide, we'll guide you, step-by-step, how to embed either Charts and Dashboards using iFrame. You will need to have already created a chart to do so.

Embedding a Chart

Below we show in three steps how to embed a chart using iFrame.

Step 1: Select your Chart

Select the Chart that you want to embed. Here, we'll select a Saved Chart called "Quantity of Car Brands in 2018".

Step 2: Generate your iFrame code

With the chart open, click on the "More..." button (three vertical dots), then click on "Share & Export", and finally click on "Get link" and copy the code which is in "Embed Code".

Your iFrame code will look like this.

<iframe width="1280" height="800" src="https://dataviz.slicingdice.com/share/6cc421555d9ff67881b84f51452add8a3b1cf48b" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Step 3: Embed your chart

Now that you have your embed code, you can paste it anywhere!
In your webpage source code, insert the iFrame anywhere in your HTML code, in the limits of the <body> tag.

This is what your embedded chart will look like.

Headerless

You can disable the header of the Data Visualization module. Just add the "?headerview=0" after your source link. Taking our example, our iFrame would look like this:

<iframe width="1280" height="800" src="https://dataviz.slicingdice.com/share/6cc421555d9ff67881b84f51452add8a3b1cf48b?headerview=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Embedding a Dashboard

A dashboard is a set of several charts and other visual resources.

Step 1: Select the Dashboard

Select the Dashboard that you want to embed. The dashboards can be found either in library tab or in the Dashboards tab. In our example, we'll select the "Test dashboard".

Step 2: Generate your iFrame code

With the dashboard open, click on the "More..." button (three vertical dots), then click on "Share & Export", and finally click on "Get link" and copy the code which is in "Embed Code".

Your iFrame code will look like this.

<iframe width="1280" height="800" src="https://dataviz.slicingdice.com/share/3af78bdb4498210e8a1e5cde637b5a2d8935eb5e" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Step 3: Embed your dashboard

Now that you have your embed code, you can paste anywhere!
In your webpage source code, insert the iFrame anywhere in your HTML code, in the limits of the <body> tag.

Looks how our embedded dashboard will look like.

You can disable the header of the Data Visualization module. Just add the "?headerview=0" after your source link. Taking our example, our iFrame would look like this:
