Getting Started Videos

Do you think text documentation is boring and you're able to absorb more information by video? Need a data solution ASAP and don't have time to see the documentation? We got you covered. We have a collection of videos to quickstart your SlicingDice use.

Control Panel

The Control Panel is one of the main things in SlicingDice. In the Control Panel, you can do almost anything! Check the video below.

Creating a Database

In order to store everything, you'll need a database. Watch the video below to see an overview of a database creation in practice.

You can also read the text documentation

Database whitelist

You can restrict the access to your database based on IP Address or domain, and you can do that while creating your database in the Control Panel. See the video below to know more about it or read the text documentation

Database Keys

You have two types of keys that you can connect to your database via API: database keys and custom database keys. See more about them in the video below or see the documentation

Editing and Deleting a Database

You can also modify and delete your database. See the video below or read our text documentation

Creating a Dimension

Dimension is a collection of columns in a database. Watch the video below to know how to make a Dimension in a database or read about it

Dimensions explained

Still confused about what Dimension - Dimension - Dimension is a concept used in SlicingDice to describe a way to group columns for a database. Each database can contain multiple dimensions and each dimension can contain multiple columns. On SlicingDice every database has at least one dimension (created by default), that is similar to the concept of a table, on relational databases. Dimensions are normally used to insert the same kind of data you inserted on another dimension, but associating it for a different type of entity. But it's also possible to use a dimension like a table on a relational database, where you normally create tables and build relations between them. really is? Check the video below. And as always, you can read the text documentation

A column is a place where a data will be stored associated with it's type. Check more in the following video or read about it

Workbench is the SlicingDice built-in feature that allows you to make your operations in the Database from Control Panel. See the video below.

You can connect with your database by using our API. Check the following video to example of how to use the API.

Loading data

One of SlicingDice's features is load the data from third-party sources, and it's built-in on Control Panel. See more about that below. You can see more details in the documentation

Dashboard and Statistics

Now that you have data loaded and running, you can see the statistics of your databases and queries in the Dashboard. See the next two videos about it.

Data visualization

SlicingDice has a built-in data visualization tool that allows you to see your data in charts. Check the video below and see the documentation about Data visualization

The main data visualization module is to insert your data and convert it to a chart. Check the video below to see how to create a chart and see the documentation for more details

Types of charts

Charts come in several flavors. See them in the next video and see the details of each chart type in the documentation

Measures, Dimensions and Calculations

You can use some options in our Data Visualization Module to refine your chart. see it in the video below.

Dashboard in Data Visualization module is where you can add multiples charts in a single document. See the video below.

Practical Data Visualization example

Do you want a practical example of Data Visualization use? Check the following video.

You can add users and give them specific permissions of what they can do in the Control Panel. See more in the video below and in the documentation

Roles and Policy

If some of your users need to have their permissions restricted, you need to create a new group of Roles and Policy for them with their specific permissions. See more in the following video.

Full video examples

Now that you know everything about the core concepts of SlicingDice, you can see the next two videos to see how everything connects.
